Airheads Gum - A Great Alternative to Regular Gum!

"Airheads" are small, gum ball sized candies made by Dutch Italians firm Perfetti Van Melle of Erlanger, KY. These small candies are made in the shape of an Airhead and are marketed as an alternative to the popular gumball. One of the big pluses for this candy is that they're a very reasonably priced snack that's well worth the price--and look how successful they've been in taking over the market!

But how did this gum go from being a humble gum substitute to being so immensely popular? One of the big pluses for Airheads is that they're not covered with sugar--which means that you don't have to worry about turning your dental health into some sort of low-stakes game of American Glaucoma. They're made from a special gum dough that contains small amounts of propylene glycol (an ingredient found in paint, nail polish, and foods containing gluten), which allows it to be chewed easily and without any unpleasant aftertaste. This gum has become so popular that nearly all candy companies now sell Airheads in their line of gum.

The biggest draw to Airheads as candy, however, has little to do with the gum itself. Instead, it has everything to do with the marketing. Airheads are essentially gum that's been covered in chocolate, and that's just about the sweetest thing a candy can get. If that doesn't speak to you, rest assured that other sweet choices for candy consumers have their own fans as well: the ever-popular "secrets" candy bars, like Milky-Way, Nutri-plex, and Tootsie Roll, have long rivaled Airheads in terms of market share.

And how do you like to spend your spare time? Airheads come in a number of different flavors--and there are many who claim to be the one for you. Chocolates, mints, sorbet, and other sweet items have always been Airheads favorites, but some gums have been successful in challenging those gums. Among the best sellers are the Minty Caramel, Apple Cinnamon, and Caramel Apple flavors, each of which offer just what the name suggests: a sweet taste reminiscent of an apple or cinnamon. If you're looking for a flavor that just about everyone will love, these gummi candy giants are perfect.

Airheads are also a good choice for people who don't want to experience too much sugar in their diets, since their sweet tastes don't go overboard. This means that if you're watching your sugar intake, Airheads shouldn't be your only sweet option. There is also the fact that they don't take much effort to chew. Unlike some other gums, Airheads don't have to offer a great deal of chewing to release their flavor--which means you get more of the sweetness for your effort. The fact that the gum comes in a variety of flavors means that you can experiment with each type to find the one that works best for you.

Airheads have been a big hit among children and adults for several years, and their appeal has only increased as the years have gone by. Their appeal is perhaps because they are made in just the right flavor combination with simple ingredients, and they don't require a great deal of chewing to release their special flavors. While gum may seem like a traditional candy to many, the world of Airheads is a far cry from the ordinary.
