Baked Pastry Dough

Description Pastry is basically a dough of all-purpose flour, sugar and shortening which can either be sweet or savory. Sweetened pastries can be described as the confectionery of bakers. The term "pastries" actually refers to a number of baking products produced by different ingredients like sugar, flour, milk, eggs and baking powder.

The history of pastry goes far back in time. The oldest evidence of making this dough is found from the Roman bakery, the chef's guilds, and Middle Eastern, Italian, German and Spanish bakeries. There are also certain recipes of Middle Eastern origin, which date back to the 8th century. In those times the dough was made out of flour already prepared by the cooks. After baking them, people would then serve these pastries as desert.

Today, most people simply call it a pastry, which sounds more formal and sophisticated, but nowadays there are so many options for decorating pastries. Some use filled pastry shells, others decorate them with fruit fillings, some even decorate them with different fillings like chocolate chips or almonds. These fillings can be made from just about anything like cheese, jelly, nuts, pretzels, fruits, nuts, dried fruits, powdered sugar, icing sugar and various types of candies, cookies and jellies.

There are two types of pastry dough: the cold and the hot. The cold dough is made by mixing cold flour, yeast, water, sugar and salt until the ingredients are fully mixed and then kneading for about five minutes until the dough comes out smooth and elastic. It is then shaped into a ball and cooked in oven for about one hour. The baked products are firm, crispy and contain a rich taste.

Hot dumpling pastries are created by mixing warm flour with water to make the dough. They are then rolled out and cut into long thin discs and baked at the oven until light and crispy. This type of pastry is flaky and the flavor is sweeter than the cold one. The main difference is that the hot dumplings have more filling and are usually thicker. They also contain a lot of sugar.

The secret to making Pastry Dough is the ingredients. You will need to use high quality flour, salt and sugar to make good pastry dough. The time you spend on making your pastries will determine how good they are. If you bake them more, then the taste will be better and if you bake less, the freshness will be lost. Also, if you allow your dough to rest, the next time you bake, it will rise and you can make a new batch with fresh, clean fingers.
