Have you ever eaten a chocolate bar that just had a little too much chocolate in it? Or tried to eat a bar of chocolate that included several ingredients including a lot of sugar? The Hershey Company refers to their Reese's Peanut Butter cups as" Reese's Pieces" or "Reese's Pieces" respectively. "Reese's" redirects here to "reeves". For those not familiar, the top-selling candy of 2021 was Reese's Peanut Butter Egg rolls. These Egg Rolls was inspired by Hooters Chicken Dip and was so popular that the company relaunched it under the name" Reese's". This type of candy is extremely popular, especially at Easter and lunchtime.
Another top selling candy snack is Nana's Chocolate Bar. This bar contains a traditional peanut butter and jam flavored fillings. It was first available for a limited time as a limited edition offer in early 2021, but it has remained popular throughout the year. When it was discontinued in August 2021 it marked the first major decline in sales of Nana's Candy Bar in more than three years.
In June 2021, Baskin Robbins launched their very own line of chocolate confectionery. Their classic caramel bar was redesigned to include three new product brand variations: Caramel Chocolate, Mint Chocolate and Nilla Cream. Each of these product brand variations was initially launched as part of a limited release "Lil' Lil' Caramel" promotion, but they quickly became popular.
Finally, in late August 2021, Hershey released their own assortment of chocolate peanut butter cups. This cup has a delicious and unique flavor: a chocolate glaze with peanut butter and was inspired by the original Peanut Butter and Jelly Cups that feature chocolate jelly sandwiches. Like most of the chocolate products from Hershey, this cup has also been discontinued. However, a similar chocolate lovers product brand, Nutella, has taken its place.
The market for chocolate has expanded quite significantly since Hershey's discontinued their top-selling product brands. The chocolate industry is continuing to experience growth due to demand from younger customers and strong marketing efforts. Hershey's, however, was one of the first companies to recognize the strength of a cup in terms of market share and to launch similar versions. Other companies are quickly following Hershey's lead and are introducing chocolate to their customer base. Chocolate has proven to be very resilient, especially in a challenging market. As consumers continue to demand more chocolate, other brands will continue to emerge to meet consumer demand.
