Hi-Chew, the Original Hot Dog Chewing Gum
Hi-Chew, also known as Hungry Cow, is an American cartoon character who pops up in many cartoons and comic books. Hi-Chew is a Japanese candies-and-candy-type product sold by Morinaga & Company. The character was created by artist Takashi Marujo for a children's book called Hachikushu. He had designed the character when he saw a similar fruit-shaped candy in a grocery store.

Like other Japanese candies, the American Hi-Chew can be eaten as a candy or mixed with other sweets. In the United States the product is sold as Morinaga Hi-Chew flavor and in some places as Hi-Chew Premium. In western countries, the candy is marketed under its other names such as Sweet Carrot Surprise, Smokies, and Chewy Crunch.
This article will teach you how to tell if your Japanese fruit chew is the genuine product with the trademark Hello Kitty logo. The first indication that you have a hi-chew in your hands is that it has a plastic bottle with a gold circle imprinted on the cap. If the bottle is transparent, the color of the icon on the label should be white.
Another way of telling if your candy is fake is if the orange strip along the edge of the plastic bag is completely intact, and if the "Hello Kitty" character is still clearly visible. In the United States the company is based in Ohio, which is the home state of the original creator, Taichiro Morinaga. In order to import and distribute this candy to the united states Hi-Chew requires an adult age of 18 years or older, and must be accompanied by a valid business license from either a foreign country or the United States. Any candy that contains a symbol for example "Merry Christmas," "Happy Holidays," or "Best Wishes," is specifically prohibited in the United States.
While Hi-Chew claims that their candy can be eaten without harm, this is not exactly what the creator of Hello Kitty did back in 2021. In a press release posted to their website, Hello Kitty said "I've never seen a dog with a fat belly eat a Hello Kitty product. The Japanese say that any food can be eaten, but most of us prefer to have something sweet." This was quickly taken down from the Hi-Chew website and although posting they still state that any food can be eaten. There are other versions of the statement on various other Hi-Chew websites, however.
Today there are many different varieties of Hi-Chew products. Some varieties are in candy bars, some are in chewing gum, and some are in other forms such as fruit jerky, or flavored bark. The main thing that they all have in common, is that people love them. If you're looking for a new alternative to traditional sweets, then perhaps you should look into Hi-Chew.
