Reese Peanut Butter Cups - Is There Still Any?

Reese Peanut Butter Cups, also known as Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, is an American candy made from a simple chocolate cup filled with creamy peanut butter, sold by The Hershey Company. They were first made on November 15, 1928, by H. B. Reese a former shipping clerk and dairy farmer. He and his brother, Sam, started the candy business by selling candies at fairs. They later moved to their present location in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They sell many different varieties including their original scooped out variety and their white chocolate variety. They also make other holiday treats such as individually wrapped Christmas tree ornaments.
This was the first major attempt at designing and manufacturing a candy. The Reeses brothers spent considerable time brainstorming and designing the original packaging. They wanted to make it clear that this was a chocolate and not just another candy with a very similar color and package design. The color was originally green, but they felt it looked too ordinary so they changed it to white chocolate. Originally the box was just a simple circle, but they eventually added a star and the name "Reese's" right on the package.
When the product was released to the market, it instantly became a huge success, in fact it outsold every other cup product on the market that year. It wasn't until much later that manufacturers started to create similar products, such as Nutrageous and Fudge Cups, that tried to imitate the success of Reese's. Each of these products were less successful than Reese's, which led to their removal from the shelves of retail stores.
After numerous attempts to revive the product, in 1931 the company brought back the standard candy bag in a much smaller and sleeker design. These bags still had the standard peanut butter and milk mixture that are found on all Reese Peanut Butter cups, but they also included a large sign that read "CHOC BUTTER" in white. The Reese Peanut Butter logo was also included on the cup along with its trademark red and white "Reese's" logo. This was also the start of producing chocolate cups in the traditional king size, which can still be found in many candy shops today.
While it was popular for consumers to purchase Reese Peanut Butter in both the traditional cup and King Size forms, it took another full twenty years before the company finally brought back the original product. In fact, during that first introduction period of the standard confections, there were several other similar products that were introduced to the market by different manufacturers. Most notably was the banana cream fill that replaced the creamy chocolate filling that was so popular in the past. While consumers still purchased the Reese's traditional cup according to shape and flavor, the cream-filled option was much easier to mass produce and became the standard cup for all Reese Peanut Butter products from that time on. In fact, it was the cream filling that was responsible for making the original Reese's peanut butter line so successful.
Other additions to the Reese's line included flavored creams and spreads, such as tangy cheddar and spicy chipotle. As with the original peanut butter cup, many of these new products became very popular during the early 2000s. At that point, there was a complete shift in the way that consumers thought about Reese Peanut Butter. People were now buying the product not because of the great taste, but because of the healthy benefits that could be found in the chocolate fill. After people became accustomed to the delicious taste of the chocolate, they began to realize that the healthy benefits of the sweet treat were worth the high cost of the traditional peanut butter cups.
The first Reese's Nut Spreads to hit the market did not have the traditional chocolate center, but rather had a nutty flavor. This did not go over well, and in early 2021, the Reese's Nut Spreads line was discontinued. The move was part of a larger transition, and the company had decided that it was not a good idea to keep the chocolate center attached to their products. In fact, they did not even continue with the nutty filling concept until after the traditional cup had completely disappeared from store shelves. As exciting as it may be to hear that the Reese's Chocolate Nut Butter is no longer available, you can at least comfort yourself with the knowledge that you can still enjoy one of their other popular products, such as the wonderful chocolate fudge that is available. It is actually quite difficult to find a fudge that has the traditional Reese's chocolate center, but if you are trying to recreate the magic that is enjoyed by those with the classic cup, this may be the way to go.
If you are interested in finding out when the Reese's Chocolate Nut Butter is available, you will want to make sure that you keep an eye on your favorite grocery store. This is because the chocolate fudge is not likely to make an appearance there for very little, especially if it is discontinued. While it is possible to find boxes of the traditional peanut butter and banana combo at your local market or grocery store, it is not likely that they are carrying the limited number of assortments that are sold by the manufacturer. If you happen to notice that the chocolate fudge is not readily available when you make your purchase, you might want to consider purchasing the assortments that have been discontinued. The combination of the chocolate center with various types of toppings is a very popular choice for many people who like this delicious twist on a traditional recipe.
