Reese Peanut Butter Cups
Description Reese Peanut Butter Cups isn't just a holiday treat: they're an American classic. On November 15th, 1928, H.B. Reese, a former shipping clerk and dairy farmer for Milton S. Hershey, created them. They quickly became a symbol for chocolate and Christmas.
Why were they so popular in the early days? The answer lies in their versatility and delicious confections. In fact, in addition to being a popular gift to give at Christmastime, they were also sold as snacks throughout the United States and in England. And their wide variety of flavors, sizes and recipes meant that they became a treat for everyone and not just those with a sweet tooth!
The name "Reese" is a combination of their common name Reese and the common brand butter. This was later changed to "Reese Peanut Butter" in 1931. However, the real name of the product brand remains "Reese Peanut Butter cups". This was because during World War II, the chocolate cup product was actually the only thing that kept the soldiers in chocolate and not their food, which was rationed.
In the early 2000s, Reese Peanut Butter cups made their first appearance on television. This was because the product had been reformulated and was to be called Rees' Own World Wide Supreme Dark Chocolate Cup. This was to be the first cup of the brand to use a white chocolate butter filling, and thus, the name was changed to "Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Dark Chocolate Cup".
During the reformulation process, the white chocolate butter filling was made available for purchase, but was discontinued for the most part. It was later released again in stores but was nowhere near as popular as it had been prior to its discontinuation. As a result, the product name was changed back to the traditional butter filling. It has remained so ever since.
Another product variation that has been introduced is the" Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Dark Chocolate Coffee Milk Chocolate". This variation uses a very similar formula as the original "Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Dark Chocolate Coffee Milk Chocolate" but has a slightly milder flavor. This has made the product very popular. As a result, many consumers prefer this version over the traditional coffee creme filling.
Other products have also been introduced to consumers in recent years. One of these is "Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Dark Chocolate Mint". This version has a very mild mint flavor but is very similar to the original formula. It has also become extremely popular and was even available in the traditional cup format just a few short years ago. It has consistently sold out at most locations.
The above are just a few of the variations that have become available. All of them were available prior to the introduction of "Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Dark Chocolate Mint" as the new fillings. All of them are extremely popular and the current trend seems to be moving back towards" Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Dark Chocolate Mint" or "Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Mint Roasted Peppermint". Both of these selections remain consistently popular, but there is a slight growth for the new "Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Mint Roasted Peppermint" offering. This could be due to the fact that it was introduced after the original "Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Chocolate Mint" became discontinued.
The other popular choice is" Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Hot Chocolate Filled with Shea Butter". This one remains in the traditional cup shape and has a very light butter flavor. Like all of the others it is available in both the original flavor and the hot chocolate filling version. It has consistently sold out at all of the participating locations. It could possibly be because it has a deeper butter flavor than the previous variation, which was introduced just a year prior.
The third choice is the Reese's Own World Wide Supreme Honey Roasted Peanut Butter. This is a very attractive option compared to the other options available. It has a very mild honey roast and is offered in a traditional cup shape. It is also sold in the traditional packaging just like all of the others, however there is a larger amount of the "honey roasted" butter filling available.
All of these products are available at most local grocery stores, but it is even more convenient to find them online. There are several websites that sell Reese Peanut Butter. Some of them sell all varieties and some only sell the white chocolate variety. It would be advisable to compare your local stores to those online, to see if they carry any of these popular items.
