Retro Candy - A Look at Some of Your Favorite Retro Candy

When you think retro candy, you probably think pastries and nuts. That's just the beginning. Actually, retro candy really encompasses a full range of sweets with varying themes from cartoon characters to sports teams. The retro candy trend isn't just for kids either; retro candy has an adult following as well, in large part because of the nostalgia factor. Retro candy stores are popping up left and right because of this trend, bringing back the good old candy-and-cake childhood of your parents and grandparents.

It wasn't always this way. In fact, candy-making was probably less popular than it is today thanks to gum. The prevalence of gum probably started the retro candy store trend, and the resulting stores are now huge and impressive places to visit. You can find retro candy at almost any type of store, big or small. The retro candy store can be found in strip malls, small towns, historic buildings, airports, shopping malls, college campuses, restaurants, bars, and even offices. You name it, they've got it!

Retro candy cigarettes are a relatively new addition to the retro candy lineup, but they're hot! In fact, there are some candy cigarettes out there that look a lot like the original gum cigarettes that were introduced in the 1950s. And they do a great job of mimicking the flavor and appearance of the gum cigarettes - not to mention the era. They're also packaged in similar traditional package designs that are reminiscent of the gum pack.

One of the most popular retro candy cigarettes is called Mentos. These candy cigarettes look a lot like the original Mentos candy cigarettes, with the typical orange color. They are packaged in the same classic bubble gum style that was used for years. This timeless design has made these retro candy cigarettes one of the top selling products in this nostalgic category.

Another retro candy cigarette product is called Squinkies. Squinkies are mini candy gum balls that come in a variety of different shapes, including flowers and other classic candy shapes. Like mentos, Squinkies are packed in the same attractive bubble gum packaging that has been used for years. It's easy to see why these candies have become so popular with nostalgic candy fans.

Finally, the retro candy bar is one of the most popular retro candy products around since the 1970s. We recently saw them featured in an episode of "American Gladiators" and were soon to be seen on numerous TV shows. Since then, they have gained huge popularity with the nostalgic public, although many adults are unaware that these candies actually came from Japan. (You can probably guess from the name that they are a type of candy bar)

When comparing the many different retro candy products that we have reviewed, perhaps nothing beats a Squinkies Pillow. The original version sold for only $2.00, making them some of the most affordable sweet treats around. They are small enough to fit right on your desk or lap and look great with any outfit. When you want something small and sweet to take with you that won't melt into a dust, try the Squinkies. When you're ready to pop a Squinkies Pillow in your mouth, make sure to stick to your safe side - these are not edible and should never be swallowed!

Speaking of popping them, there are plenty of other retro candy to take your fancy. There are also plenty of ways to enjoy them as well. For instance, did you know that you can use them as buttons? These adorable little buttons are great for turning your computer screen into a vintage style monitor. If you're a bit of a computer geek, maybe you can find a way to make it light up. Whatever you want to do with them, you can make them look just like the old wired telephones that everyone used in the 80's.
