From a sweet treat that started in Munich, Germany, to the sweet confection that's brought to America by a German immigrant, Rees eggs is steeped in history. This delicious hard-to-find chocolate from Germany contains a touch of tradition with it's traditional, brown coloring. Rees eggs have a rich chocolate flavor that is extremely well-suited for hot days, like a day in the sun. It also introduces us to the world of dark chocolate, a little richer than milk chocolate but not as creamy.

This delectable chocolate bar was introduced in the U.S. in 1957. It introduces us to Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, another American icon. A Reese's Peanut Butter Cup was one of the first American candy bars to use real peanut butter. This delicious bar is still popular today in its original form.

When Rees eggs and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were introduced, no one knew how much this would hit the market. This very successful candy bar was introduced just before Easter and was a huge hit. Even after its success, Rees eggs and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were not forgotten and were made available year after year.

This candy bar from Germany is the standard by which all others are judged. This is how candy is made, and this is how the Rees Eggs and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups became classics. Every single candy bar that is produced uses real butter and real chocolate in the manufacturing process. This gives the product a more sophisticated taste than its competition.

When you taste a Rees Egg or a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, you will know why it is so special. Both of these candy bars introduce us to something that will be there for a long time. They introduce us to joy, and to nostalgia. Each candy bar is an imprint of the past, and of a time when life was much simpler, when families didn't have to worry about saving for tomorrow, because all that they needed was today.

Peanut Butter Cups were introduced as a concession during World War II for military personnel. They were a huge success and were so popular that they were made available for anyone to enjoy. The world was introduced to milk taffy bars, which were considered to be the first true candy bar. After World War II, candy industry went through tremendous growth and prosperity. Candy manufacturers were able to produce quality candy bars for many years, until the mid 1980's when they were once again impacted by the downfall of the candy industry.

The decade after that was characterized by many different changes in the candy industry. Candy taffy bars were no longer the top-selling products, they were replaced by other types of candy, like bite-sized chocolate kisses, that were more appealing to children. Hershey introduces us to a new candy bar called Smuckers that was created to remedy this problem and to introduce another flavor to the market: mint.

The decade after that also saw the rise of many different confectionary companies. We can talk about Nestle, Hershey, and Hershey's Own, Inc., we can talk about Tootsie Roll Industries, and even Jelly Belly, Inc. Tootsie Roll was a major competitor in the candy bar industry for many years, until they decided to go into a different business. Soon after that, they acquired their competitor, Jelly Belly, Inc.

After the acquisition, Tootsie Roll took on a new competitor in the form of Hershey's Nutrageous and Company. During World War II, candy makers were forced to produce rationed supplies because the military did not have any candy supply. They had to come up with ways to keep their consumers happy, so they began producing outrageous wafers that were coated in chocolate syrup. Retro candy called Hershey wafers, which was very similar to today's retro candy wafers.
