Selling at a Glance
Yummy Gummy Bear have been making a splash on late night television since 1999. This fast paced commercial ad campaign was not only a huge hit with kids, but adults as well. Candy store owners saw a huge increase in sales when they added this yummy bear candy to their candy displays.
Yummy Gummy bears are nothing more than a standard gummi in a chocolate shell. The flavor is also the same as the dummy. It has no added sugar. So what makes these so popular?
The candy is so popular because of its chewy goodness. Who wouldn't want a chewy treat? When we crave a really good deal, we usually are after something that is not very healthy, such as fast food or sugary snacks. Yummy Gummy bears are much better for you than sugary candy. Not only are they healthier, but they taste great too. Kids will eat these just for the candy alone.
candy store owners also love the summit because it is a very flexible product. You can have it in a handful, in a couple of pieces, in a large chunk... you can have it drizzled with chocolate or covered in chocolate. You can let your imagination run wild! This means that Yummy Gummy can be made into different shapes and ate in different ways. Kids love to eat the gum and then lick the side to get the sweetness and flavors of the candy.
Candy manufacturers are not limited to creating one type of gum, though. They can come up with any style of gum that would appeal to children. If they come up with a new color or pattern, they will most likely introduce it in a gum commercial so parents and children will see what all the fuss is about!
The Yummy brand is so popular and well loved that it was even used as the theme for the award winning movie, Gummo! and several other related movies. The summit became so popular that the trademark was later bought by a chewing gum company, allowing Yumminies to expand into more candy and personal care items. They even opened their own gummi store in the Netherlands.
