Soda Flavours

When I was growing up, soda fountains were the most popular in every candy store I went to. Kids loved to run down to their dads and moms (or "daddies") house and get a big cool bear or go "Pop!" on the side of the machine.

This trend is now gone, but there are still lots of great fountains in the candy stores. I recently came across Hi-Cherry, a very interesting new kind of cherry candy fountain. While it looks a little different than other fountains, the kids really like it. The kids apparently think it's a great way to make the day more fun (and what kid doesn't?)

There are lots of fountains that give the feel of soda, but few have the distinctive "pop" of soda. In fact, there are only a few brands that have the signature taste of soda. One of those brands is Hi-Cherry, which is made from cherry syrups. It's not quite as sweet as Mentos or Laffy Taffys, but there is a nice smoothness to it that can really help out your senses.

Hi-Cherry fountains come in all different varieties, including ones with very high levels of sugary syrup (to mimic the taste of soda). I actually like the way it tastes - I'm not the kind of person who enjoys high sugar content food or drink. While there are plenty of artificial sweeteners out there, I prefer my foods and drinks to be natural. Candy is a great example of a "natural" product that should definitely be consumed in moderation - so don't overdo it with the sugar!

For the most part, I prefer fruit flavours over soda flavour fountains. Fruit flavours tend to be sweeter, and not as much of a boost to your stomach as the fountains. However, there are exceptions to that rule. My favourite types of soda are the ones with real fruit flavour, such as lemon drops and grapefruit, and if I was in a place where I could only get one type of fruit every day (without going crazy), that would be it for me.
