Sweet Candy Mixing With Water to Make the Ordinary
Ah the soda flavour. When I was a kid, I can remember going to the local candy store and getting a giant tub of Mentos Sugar Candy in a lime-green tin that had frosting bubbles and a candy cane stuck to the top of it. It was the most amazing thing to my kids as they gathered around my mom's white kitchen pantry and tried to peer into the bottle hoping to get a whiff of the sugary goodness inside. They ended up with a sickly sweet tooth and some bruises on their faces from trying to peer through the blast door.

I've since gotten over my youthful fascination with this particular type of candy, but when I think back on my childhood visits to the candy store, I can't help but imagine how it would feel to wander through the aisles and get a whiff of Mentos. In reality, it's probably not that difficult to imagine the identical scenario except with a Mentos twist. In today's market there are numerous ways to experience this type of candy without actually exposing yourself to Mentos itself. These include a number of different products such as the My Pillow Pets Bear Toe Bag, and Snickers candy pack, among others.
Why have we stopped experiencing this wonderful taste? It seems that as our tastes and preferences change, so do our methods of buying candies. We no longer have the luxury of walking into a candy store and finding what we want. This has led to the rise of the impulse market, or simply a store that sells everything and anything, because it's hot, or they feel like selling it, or because they're desperate for sales. There is nothing wrong with stores selling hot items such as puppies, but there is something wrong with buying candy in these circumstances.
The problem with getting candy from a store that doesn't feature the real thing is that it can have a very unpleasant aftertaste. Candy tastes different if you add water. If you take away the water, it no longer tastes the same. It's not only the artificial sweeteners that have a bad effect on candy, it's also the sugar content. Sugar loses its chemical properties when it is mixed with water, so it is pointless adding water to artificially sweeten up the soda flavour of a Mentos Twister.
We've all tried to eat ice cream, and while it tastes great, it can be quite messy to eat, especially if you've got some children around. A good alternative to ice cream would be to get a frozen treat. Now there is nothing wrong with a frozen treat if you don't have children, but we're talking about adults here! Most of us find ourselves looking for a way to make things easier on ourselves, and this is where snack foods have an advantage over ice cream. When you add sugar (as opposed to honey) to food, the natural reaction is to want to eat more.
You can, however, add a little something to your candy so that it doesn't taste as though it has been mixed with chemicals. If you put beetroot in a mixture, for example, you will find that the original taste is restored, but it won't be quite the same as if you had just eaten the beetroot. This is because the beetroot acts as a natural preservative. While it might not be a very common occurrence, you may want to try this, or go shopping for candy at different stores. I've often found that the best bargains are in supermarkets where they stock different kinds of sweets. You're more likely to find something that is suitable for you, and that you enjoy eating, than trying out the one in front of you.
