Kit Kat

One of the best known candy bars, Kit Kat has enjoyed enormous popularity among children and adults all over the world. Originating in Japan, Kit Kat is now one of the world's most famous candy bars. It has even earned recognition in other countries, including the U.S., where Kit Kat is sold under different brands. The simple, colorful candy bar, with its tasty mixture of chocolate and peanut butter, is enjoyed by millions of people all around the world.

Description Kit Kat is simply a chocolate bar coated in chocolate that is sold in almost all supermarkets throughout the U.S. Except in the U.S., where it is manufactured under license by the H. B. Reese Candy Company Inc, worldwide, Kit Kat is made by Nestle, a division of Hershey Company. Kit Kat has even been made into a number of cartoon shows, books, and several movies. Wikipedia

History Kit Kat candy has its roots in Japan, where it was developed in the late 19th century. Japanese companies had begun making wafers for street vendors. As time passed, the candy wafers improved and were eventually sold in local markets and during the trade fairs. These wafers soon gained in popularity and were then sent to various manufacturers in the U.S. and Europe. There, they underwent many changes such as replacing the plain chocolate wafers with mints, almonds, nuts, and cream, adding various flavors such as fruit, chocolates, and others. When Nestle purchased this American brand, it immediately invested more money into improving the product, making it more delicious and more loved by consumers.

Since Kit Kat's development, there have been a number of major modifications made to the original wafer. Today, you can find Kit Kat wafers that are filled with fruits and chocolate flavor, or come with different fillings such as caramel, vanilla, or even caramel-flavored candy bars. Another major change to the wafers occurred when Kit Kat incorporated several new varieties, such as chocolate nut cross, banana nut cross, chocolate peanut cross, and chocolate orange cross. Each of these variations added their own twist to the wafer, turning it from a plain chocolate bar to a sweet treat that even kids love.

As far as tastes go, most Americans seem to love the original flavor of Kit Kat. It has a rich chocolate taste, with hints of caramel, nuts, and nutmeg. Europeans, however, tend to favor the softer, less bitter taste of their candy, so if you want to try your luck with those kats in the market, look for ones that have relatively low levels of bitterness and have relatively similar flavors. Another option would be to use non-flavored wafers in place of the flavored ones and add some kind of topping to the mixture.

You can find a Kit Kat all over the place, whether at local supermarkets, at parties, or even in vending machines. They are usually fairly cheap, so it should not be difficult to buy a box or two for your own use or to give as a gift. Even if you're not one for buying yourself wafers, you might want to give some to friends or family members, especially if you know they'll like them!
