Tootsie Roll Facts and trivia
Tootsie Roll Classic Mint is one of the best selling candies at the American candy stores. There are more than forty different types of Tootsie Roll Classic Mint flavors that all have different names such as "Fancy", "Candy Bar", etc. The gumdrop kind is also available.
Tootsie Roll Classic Mint is the most famous gum drop in the American candy stores. It has a very high content of sugar per serving, making it very sweet. The gum drops are individually wrapped, each a quarter inch in length, and each contains a single gummy candy. The gum drops are Kosher, not free, and sugar free.
The candy has been featured in many television shows including "Fringe", "The Simpsons", "Cheers", and "Seinfeld". In fact, the candy has been used in the first commercial of a TV show, "Seinfeld", in which an old man eats the gum drops during a seminar. That commercial, which was supposed to be hilarious, became a running gag in the series, "The Buy'. The gum drops were then used as a punch in "The Simpsons" as well.
All varieties of Tootsie Roll Classic Mint are made in a San Francisco, California manufacturing plant. The candy has been brought to the candy store by Marzetti and Company, a family owned candy company that is known for its gourmet chocolate products. The company also owns a number of other popular candy companies such as Toffee Stix, Jelly Belly, Milky-Way, Nestle, Fudge and more. Some of the candy store chain branches carry Tootsie Roll flavors such as Tootsie Roll Pops, Tootsie Roll Mints, Tootsie Roll Cups, Tootsie Roll M&Ms, Tootsie Roll Shapes, etc. In addition, there are specialty stores that only sell Tootsie Roll.
Each candy bar is decorated with gum drops. A ribbon is sometimes added to the candy to enhance the appearance of the candy. There is also a gum drop shaped top to each bar. This top is what gives the candy its name. Tootsie Roll was also one of the first candy bars to incorporate the Maltese cross design.
There is no denying that Tootsie Roll is probably one of America's most well-known candies. It was even named one of the "rities" in the book "Good Morning, America" by Donner and Bornrich. If you want to have some, you should definitely visit your local candy store. In addition to Tootsie Roll, there are many other American candy brands that you can choose from.
