Toy Candy Making - Pastry and Cookie Recipes

Clear plastic toy candies is an old traditional confectionery which originated in Germany, England & Scotland. It's especially popular at Christmas and Easter. In addition, the hard candy has been tinted in various bright colors, usually red, yellow and green.

But what makes candy making with toy candy molds so popular these days? Candy making with molds is fun and convenient. There is no need to go to your local craft store to buy supplies or spend money on an expensive toy candy maker. A simple trip to the local convenience store or a quick visit to your favorite internet site will give you all the supplies you need for a fraction of the cost.

Candy making can be really simple or it can be really elaborate. My mom was the creative type and loved making colorful candies with a little bit of frosting or filling. She even made card stock tumblers that she would cut and pack in beautiful little bags. She also had a gift certificate to a Christmas special store that had an amazing selection of toys for Christmas that year.

Christmas was coming, so she decided to make weapons and other toys to sell on eBay. To make weapons she made cardboard tubes, foam cylinders and also molded plastic model clay figures. The toys she sold on eBay were really interesting and unique. She had put together all of these pieces using clear candy molds and she made over 200 weapons that she would sell on eBay throughout the entire Christmas season.

She also made a great variety of Christmas treats such as cookies, chocolates and even cupcakes. Some of her treats had orange and red tinting to them. There were cookie cutters with a snowman on them and they had white frosting that matched the colors on the actual cookies. These treats were a hit and were extremely popular at the holidays.

If you're looking for a really good way to add some flavor to your homemade candies or other food treats this winter then try to add some food coloring to them. Food coloring adds a great layer of flavor without using any harmful chemicals. Foods that naturally taste yellow are good for you and the kids so it's worth trying.

A few years back when I was in my early twenties I was a huge fan of the Company. The candy company released two different types of product lines: one was in the shape of a teddy bear and the other was in the shape of a little boy with his favorite toy. They also had a line of food color and nut candy. I was a huge fan of all three products and I still purchase a couple of the food coloring lines on occasion because I love how the teddy bears look but the little boy bears are just adorable.

Years ago when my mother-in-law was cooking for us she would often use white distilled vinegar and food coloring to give the food stuffs a bright and colorful look. Years ago when the pet food companies started to put out pet food that had a melamine base to it some people questioned whether or not the pet food was safe for pets to eat. We used to run to the pantry and grab whatever we could find to cook with such as baking soda, baking powder, and anything else that we could think of to make our food appear a lot more colorful. Times have changed but the passion for cooking and candy making has remained strong.
