W.C. Adams Reese Peanut Butter Cups

Reese Peanut Butter Cups is an American snack made up of a thick, chocolate-coated chocolate cup usually filled with sugar, milk or buttermilk, sold by The Hershey Company to many retailers. They were first manufactured on November 15, 1928, by H. B. Reese, an unemployed dairy farmer and shipping contractor for Milton S. Hershey, a then giant candy manufacturing company. It was his last Christmas as a worker, and he yearned for a gift that would bring him recognition. He had always enjoyed eating chocolate, especially Reese's, but did not think he could buy them in a store. He needed a miracle, he thought.

When he purchased the first available Reese's Chocolate from a local grocery store, he was astonished at how large the cup was. He bought nine boxes to test for size, and each of them turned out to be the same size. He tried dipping the chocolate into a pan of melted butter, but the result was too runny and it cracked when he removed it from the pan. Finally, he decided to try to fill the cups with jam, but this resulted in lumpy, brittle cookies.

Reeses also manufactured a line of miniature chocolate cakes called Reeses Cupcakes. These cakes, unlike the traditional cup cakes, were very thin and fragile. They tasted just like a regular cup of chocolate, except they were not available on the market for over forty years. When they finally returned to the market, they were discontinued. The reason for their discontinuation was unknown, but it is believed by some that Reeses was simply tired of being taken out of the traditional cupcake box and replacing it with the peanut butter cup.

Another popular confectioner was Thomas Ligotti. His creations included not only delicious cookies and candy but also funny shaped candy bars. One of his most popular items was called the "Ligottomania." This candy bar was filled with pretzels, nuts, and other goodies that looked just like the traditional marshmallow candy bar.

Another American confectioner was Alexander Parkes. His candy products were designed in a fun, whimsical style. His "King Size" and "Queen Size" candy were sold in a three-piece bag with a stuffed "king size" figure inside. The bag was also accompanied by an accompanying sheet of bright colored construction paper that represented a castle. The King Size Candy Bar was designed in the shape of a royal throne with the king size figure reclining inside.

Another American confectioner was W.C. Adams. His line of "Fruitums" included all kinds of candies in an assortment of colors and flavor. One of his creations was the "Fruitums Chunk." This snack consisted of four chunks of hard candy coated in a cinnamon flavored shell. One of the first flavors offered with this offering was Caramel Apple.

One of the most popular items from W.C. Adams was his "Banana Cream" and "Chocolate Fudge." Both of these treats consist of a vanilla wafer, a scoop of ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate and a side of banana creme. Each of these treats was offered in a traditional cup and could be purchased individually or as a part of a larger gift set. It was not until the early Twentieth century that Reese Peanut Butter cups became available as a single serving.

Today, Reese Peanut Butter Cups makes a great gift for children and adults alike. They are available in a variety of different types of containers and can also be found in various traditional candy dishes. When selecting the correct container, it is important to ensure there is ample room for the Reese Peanut Butter Balls. It is also important to make certain there is room to spread out the filling. There are many wonderful websites that offer a large selection of Reese Peanut Butter cups and other delicious recipes.
