Where to Get Retro Candy Today
There are many reasons for nostalgic candy-consumption. But retro candy is definitely more than nostalgia: it's a veritable collection of sweet, old-fashioned candy favorites which will take you back through time, reminding you of all the good things that you were doing and who you were when you first got Candy Dots, and gently remind you of all the places you've been and things that you've tried but never quite been able to complete. When you crave for a candy treat and need a pick-me-up to boost your spirits, or to cheer someone up, a box of Sugar Cookies or a candy bar from the mid-'70s might just do the trick. What better way to perk up than to indulge in one of history's most beloved sweets?
If there's one thing about retro candy that everyone has, it's that they're usually candy bars - individually wrapped candy bars which come in varying shapes, sizes, and colors. These candy bars are often made from either sugar or even chocolate syrup (and sometimes even nuts, fruits, and pretzels! ), and they're packaged in classic milk cartons or similar containers, sometimes even with a little heart symbol or label around the edge.
But the packaging alone isn't enough; what's more important than the wrapping is what's inside: what's inside makes all the difference when it comes to retro candy, and what's more, what's going to make all the difference when it comes to grabbing a pack of these candy items today as well as a few years down the road. As a brand, Mars Incorporated is known for its retro candy store packaging, and the candy that comes in these wonderfully designed packaging is just about as different from the conventional candy you find at your local drugstore or supermarket as it's possible to be. The designs are bold, the colours are different, and the shapes are usually very unique. If you're a fan of old school candy, then you're going to love them!
For example, the Mars Australia retro candy you'll find at their stores feature chocolate pink dots which really do resemble the famous Peanuts gang, complete with their trademark hats, noses, and curly hair. In addition to this design, there are also several different styles. You can get mini versions which feature little wax lips - nice if you want a slightly different effect from the traditional "candy dots". These dots are also available in white, and there are some styles that feature clear "bite-sized" chocolate kisses, just as you'd find in an actual bar of Peanuts. This type of retro candy product is great for kids, but it would also go down well with young adults who might enjoy enjoying a bite of their own favourite old fashioned candy, too.
One of the most popular retro style candy items that you will find at WaxLips is their very own take on the Big Girl's favourite classic - the Sugar Rush! Each piece is made out of top 20 authentic sugar snaps, and each one comes with a realistic looking kiss. The Sugar Rush piece can come in different colours: from light pink, to dark red, to lime green and even - yep, you guessed it - purple.
If you want to go retro without having to go all out on the chocolate, you might want to check out the retro range of Pop Rocks. These retro candy products have been around since the mid-nineties, but they're back in full force, along with a whole range of other styles. As well as the usual dots, popping rock pieces are available in numerous other colours, such as: yellow, blue, red, polka dot, stripes, hearts, and lots more. They look just like they do in the olden days, and they're even better served when they're served in their original packaging, too!
Finally, if you want to be really up-to-date about retro candy, you should definitely check out the range of FunDips products. FunDips retro sweets are just as fun to eat as any of the retro sweets mentioned above, and they're even better presented than the vintage candy finds - in boxes that look just like they should, instead of the cardboard boxes many of them were packaged in. And because they're all made out of sugar, you can be sure that they won't date as quickly as the retro candy you buy today. These sweets are also made from sugar, so you know they won't go bad, either. (In fact, the company really has no history - they started manufacturing Twisty the FunDips five years ago, before that there was any particular brand out there.)
So if you're looking for sweet stuff that's a bit "retro," nostalgic, and candy-themed, you should definitely check out the range of retro candy and sweet goods that is available to you. There are plenty of places that offer this type of sweet stuff, but your best bet is, of course, to check out the site, as they offer some of the best quality candy around, in a large variety. You can also try out the many retro sweets featured on the classic retro candy bar website, which is one of the best places to go for sweet candy information. The good people at that site make sure that they only feature the absolute best retro sweets around, so you don't have to worry about being disappointed with what they have to offer - it's all right there, just waiting for you to find it!
