Wonderful Honeymoon, The Best Book Ever by David Bach

Wonderful Honeymoon: A Romance Book and DVD from the minds of Ellen W. Faber and Mike Dillard, two of the best authors on all things romance and honeymoons. I have always been a fan of Faber's books and this is my fifth purchase of her books (so far). I must say, that aside from the fact that I like to think my gifts are romantic, I really did like this one. Faber uses a lot of flowery language and phrases, which made it difficult for me to understand at times, but then again, that's just part of the appeal.

"Wonderland: A Romance Book and DVD by Ellen W. Faber" is about two newlyweds in a small cottage in England during World War II. After spending some time in their honeymoon, they decide to surprise their loved one with a picnic on the beach. Everything goes well until they hear noises from the neighboring sea. Then, their cottage is flooded and they are trapped inside for ten long days. They manage to make it back to civilization, and their lives are saved.

I don't know if I enjoyed this book as much as I thought I would, but I still really enjoyed it. It is about a couple that get separated while honeymooning. The author covers a lot of topics, from proper behavior when alone, how to deal with a divorce, how to balance work and your personal life, and of course, how to plan a honeymoon. In the end, the book finishes up with an advice piece on how to save marriage. The book is not only fun to read, but it also provides some practical advice.

I really liked the way that the author puts things into perspective. For example, she reminds the reader not to let their everyday stresses run ahead of the honeymoon. Although this is a very funny part of the book, the author also teaches that although a honeymoon may be all fun and games, it is still a trip with significant importance. And what better way to remind yourself than through humor?

I also really liked the way that David Bach put everything into perspective for the reader. There were times when I felt that the book was a little too melodramatic, but then again, I think most people who pick up this book will see things a little differently. It is not a long book and is easily finished in a few hours. It could even be read in one sitting because it is pretty short.

Overall, I thought this was a great book on a very relevant topic. Although I can see where the author gets her jitters from telling such serious and adult stories, I still think that this is a wonderful honeymoon story that will make any couple remember their honeymoon. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a honeymooner or someone who wants to become one. You will not be disappointed and will probably want to read it again!
